The Jackson County Public Library and Jackson County High School Library have teamed up to bring you free Teen Summer Reading Book Kits.
Available to high school students only.
Pick up your kit at the Jackson County High School Library, there are limited supplies at the Jackson County Public Library.
*One kit per student * Pickup in person only * First come, first served * Limited quantities available.

We already know that Kentucky's public library staff are pretty special, and it is great to see Mrs. Holly from McCreary County Public Library be a finalist for the National Center for Families Learning 2026 Toyota Family Teacher of the Year.

NCFL is excited to announce the finalists for the 2026 Toyota Family Teacher of the Year!

For 30 years, NCFL, with support from TOYOTA, has recognized educators from across the nation who use a strong multigenerational approach to learning and focus on building effective family-school partnerships that support student learning outcomes and school improvement.

The 2026 finalists are:
🍏 Mary Cluley, physical education teacher at Burkburnett ISD
🍏 Holly Daugherty, youth services librarian at McCreary County Public Library
🍏 Heather Hall, STEM teacher at Montview Elementary School
🍏 Kristen Kardos, health teacher and supervisor of health and wellness at Nowell Leadership Academy
🍏 Dr. Nisha Phillip Malahoo, STEM teacher at Pinewood Elementary

Rowan County Public Library and public libraries across Kentucky are offering their tributes to Dolly Parton and her legacy. Thank you Dolly and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library for bringing books into the lives of so many children.

It's with incredibly heavy hearts that we've learned about the passing of Dolly Parton. More than an icon, she was a hero who helped bring the gift of literacy to hundreds of thousands of children through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, which is a legacy to be proud of and one that will stand the test of time.
