KYU license holders must file a quarterly tax return for all qualified vehicles — even if no miles were traveled.

✅ A registered KYID account is required.
✅ Keep your KYU vehicle inventory up to date.
✅ Payments can be made by credit card or ACH.

Once you’re 18, make sure you have acceptable proof of residency for yourself and your residential address, even if you still live at home.

Don’t have a utility bill or lease? No problem! There are several documents that may be accepted, including:

📬 U.S. Postal Service postmarked mail
🏦 Bank statements/ W-2 OR 1099
💵 Pay slips or salary statements
🚗 Kentucky vehicle registration
📄 Proof cannot be in the parent/legal guardian's name

Planning ahead can help prevent an extra trip to the Driver Licensing Regional Office.

✅ Complete a pre-application through myDrive before your visit. Bring the letter from your confirmation email and any other required documents to your office visit.
