Today we celebrate the workers who care for others, build, teach, serve, produce and keep our state strong. We also honor the generations of workers who stood together for better pay, safer workplaces and the rights working people deserve.

Happy Labor Day to Kentucky’s workers. We’re proud to stand with you.

Medicaid is changing. Kentucky lawmakers want to hear what that means for you.

If you rely on Medicaid, care for someone who does, or provide care to Medicaid patients, join us for a stop on our Medicaid Reality Check listening tour.

Flags at Kentucky government buildings are at half-staff in honor and remembrance of Dolly Parton.

Dolly gave the world extraordinary music and joy while never forgetting where she came from. Her generosity continues to touch families across Kentucky through her Imagination Library, which reaches all of the state's 120 counties and provides more than 132,000 Kentucky children with a free book each month.

Few people have been as universally loved as Dolly. We are grateful for all she gave to the world.

Rep. Chad Aull welcomed Avory Woolery of Lexington to the Capitol this week to recognize his courage after he helped save an unconscious swimmer from a Lexington pool.

Avory received a Kentucky House citation honoring his actions. Before he left, we asked what message he had for anyone who might someday find themselves in a situation like his.

Here’s what he had to say.

As Renee Shaw prepares to retire from KET - Kentucky Educational Television, we want to say thank you.

We've appreciated every opportunity to be part of the conversations Renee led. Through her work leading KET's public affairs coverage, she brought lawmakers, policy experts, and Kentuckians together for respectful, meaningful conversations about the issues facing our Commonwealth. At a time when civil discourse can feel increasingly rare, she showed that people with different viewpoints can come together for respectful conversations.

Renee's fairness, preparation, and gift for asking the right questions have earned the respect of people across Kentucky. Her work has strengthened the connection between Kentuckians and the public policy conversations that shape our Commonwealth.

From all of us in the Kentucky House Democratic Caucus, thank you, Renee, for all you've done for Kentucky. Congratulations on your retirement. You'll be missed.
