And, the new resume builder is live with many features to help a job seeker create and sharpen their resumes and letters.

If you would like to page through a slidedeck on all the content we have from EBSCOlearning, you can use the slidedeck in our LearningExpress toolbox.

We've had three webinars from Shana Ashwood-Viala with the LearningExpress Team. We have the recordings posted in our LearningExpress toolbox. And the most recent was just yesterday on career-related resources.

Hello, we are featuring encyclopedias from Britannica today for our early learners in PreK-2nd grade.

For school districts, we have Britannica School Early Elementary.

Every article has read aloud and Spanish translations by native speakers. Includes vivid visuals, simple text, and read-aloud support that build confidence and comprehension.

For public libraries, we have Britannica Library - Young Children.

Britannica Library - Young Children visually appealing and easy to navigate, this level offers read-aloud audio, word-by-word highlighting, and Spanish localization, making exploration accessible, and developmentally appropriate.

You can use either.

Also, if you would like the weblinks for either of these to put on your own website, get in touch at [email protected].

Melanie Warga, director of Ohio County Public Library, got in touch recently with a patron question. The patron was interested in learning more about bookkeeping. Melanie knew about the Computer Skills center in LearningExpress and the Excel training videos with transcripts but asked what else might be available.

I made some other recommendations. Melanie’s reply: “Enid, you never cease to amaze me!! Thank you so very much - I don't know what we would do without you and KYVL!”

Do you have a patron looking for bookkeeping type resources? I recommend resources below.

LearningExpress has the Computer Skills Center and they can learn Excel there with captioned and transcribed videos. I love it because somebody can just go to the topic they want to learn, through a table of contents.

I would also recommend Small Business Source. https://kyvl.org/sbrc

Small Business Source has the NOLO guides on a variety of topics. I would ask what type of bookkeeping and in what setting. If the patron isn't quite sure, they can look at the NOLO guides and check out chapters that may be of interest. Balance sheet examples, how to approach accounting in an office setting, and so on.

Go to KYVL.org, choose Public Libraries > Business Resources [Under Career Resources is Computer Skills Center].

Once on the Business Resources page, choose Small Business Source.

Look for the NOLO titles at the bottom — they are ebooks on a variety of business-related topics. You can also search "accounting and nolo" in the search bar and get results.

I did a little video tour. https://app.screencastify.com/watch/WhBUnzg8mXsWPzNkbEZA?checkOrg=b9e0ad3a-a3dd-43fd-bd81-84f74b356667

There are the NOLO titles but also, look for Core Business Functions and there are many accounting topics under there, for someone to explore and learn.

Open Core Business Functions and choose Accounting. A patron can explore the resources beneath each subtopic.
