⏰BEWARE OF TEMPORARY PERMIT DEADLINES!
Temporary permits are good for 240 days OR until the permit holder receives their social work license.
Once the license is issued, the permit is no longer valid.
If the permit was for clinical practice, clinical services to clients must STOP until a supervision contract is approved and notice of that approval sent by the board.
Remember, the supervision contract is a legal contract and it cannot be signed until the new CSW receives their license.

**HOW DO YOU GET YOUR LICENSE AFTER YOU PASS YOUR EXAM?**
First, congratulations! 🎉Now that you’ve passed your exam, refer back to the official notice of exam approval (emailed to you), and follow the steps to UPLOAD your Unofficial Score Report and PAY your initial license fee online. (LCSW candidates must also upload their Documentation of Continued Supervision Form.)

KY approvals for the ASWB social work license exam are good for one year: 2019 approvals will NOT expire until 12/31/2020.

**NEW GRADUATES - ALERT!** The KY Board of Social Work MUST have an official FINAL transcript stating that your social work degree has been "AWARDED" before your license can be issued. Submit the official FINAL transcript through the National Student Clearinghouse (email: [email protected]) or ask the registrar to mail it to the board office. No hand deliveries please.

**ATTENTION** TEST CENTERS SUBJECT TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS!

Pearson VUE test centers, where you sit for the ASWB exam, reopened May 1, 2020, with safety measures and social distancing protocols in effect. These measures mean that testing volumes remain reduced.

In KY, candidates must supply and wear face masks to be admitted to test centers.

Your approval to sit for the exam, which usually expires after one (1) year, will be extended due to delays caused by the COVID-19 crisis. ASWB exam open approvals have been extended to 6/30/2021.
