💜 September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month
Mental health struggles don’t always look the same. You might feel overwhelmed, hopeless, disconnected, exhausted, or like things won’t get better. You may find yourself pulling away from people, struggling to get through the day, or having thoughts about su***de.
If any of this feels familiar, you deserve support. You do not have to wait until things become a crisis to reach out.
Start wherever you can. Tell someone you trust that you’re having a hard time. Reach out to your counselor, case manager, healthcare provider, or another member of your support system. Even saying, “I’m not doing okay and I need someone to talk to” is enough to start the conversation.
If you’re having thoughts of su***de or feel like you may not be able to keep yourself safe, call or text 988 press option 1 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Support is available 24/7.
And if you notice someone else struggling, check in with them too. Sometimes being willing to listen and stay connected can make a meaningful difference.
This month is about more than awareness. It’s also a reminder that it’s okay to need help, it’s okay to ask for it, and support is available. 💜
