Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet The business of the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet is to educate, prepare and train Kentucky's current and future workforce.

As a bridge between the world of education and the world of work, the cabinet coordinates P-20 learning programs and manages and supports training and employment opportunities. The cabinet's work is wide-ranging, focusing on lifelong learning. From early childhood education to job training programs for adult workers, the

goal is to prepare Kentuckians for success at the next level - school ready, college and career ready, and work ready. Now more than ever, effective education and workforce development opportunities are critical to a strong economy. The Education and Labor Cabinet thrives on continuous improvement to create and education and workforce system that prepares Kentuckians for the 21st century workforce, while helping businesses find the skilled workers they need to compete and create jobs in the Commonwealth.

KYSAFE recently recognized Matalco Kentucky for its commitment to workplace safety. Employees working at the company’s Shelbyville, Ky., plant worked 549,354 consecutive hours between Jan. 1, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2025, without a workplace injury accident or illness resulting in lost time. KYSAFE recently recognized Matalco Kentucky for its commitment to workplace safety. Employees working at the company’s Franklin, Ky., plant worked 284,904 consecutive hours between March 26, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2025, without a workplace injury accident or illness resulting in lost time.
