Neighbors across our District want safer neighborhoods. To build trust, our communities should stop using these flock cameras, especially those who are abusing their power to hunt immigrants or stalk women.

A Shively police officer was arrested this week, accused of using the Flock camera system to track and harass a woman for months.

Two women were killed this morning at Family Scholar House, in the heart of the community I have the privilege to represent. I am heartbroken for their families and loved ones, and for everyone at Family Scholar House carrying the weight of this terrible loss.

I know Family Scholar House and the extraordinary work it does. It is a place built to give women and families safety, stability, and the chance to build a new future. Many of the families it serves have already endured domestic violence, housing insecurity, and profound hardship.

That two women lost their lives to violence in a place meant to offer safety and hope is especially devastating.

My heart is with every resident, child, staff member, and neighbor affected by this tragedy. No woman should live in fear of violence, and every family deserves to feel safe in the place they call home.

Great town hall on data center development this evening. It was inspiring to see so many people engaged on this issue, especially the next generation! Thanks to State Representative Lisa Willner and Keturah Herron, KY State Senator for organizing, and to Audrey Ernstberger from Kentucky Resources Council for sharing her expertise. It was informative and very uplifting to know that our communities are ready to fight unregulated expansion of hyperscale data centers in Louisville.

As we mark 250 years since adopting the Declaration of Independence, we are still striving towards a more perfect union.

Even in these dark days when our civil rights and liberties are constantly under attack by one of the most corrupt administrations in our nation's history, I find hope in solidarity.

Communities are standing with their neighbors - immigrant, trans, black and brown. People are coming together to protect each other and support each other. This is how we defend the progress we have made over 250 years, and how I know we will keep making progress for the future.

When the Supreme Court issued it's decision today, I was touring the Japanese internment camp at Heart Mountain. This administration is trying to revive the darkest chapters of our history, and today's decision is a rebuke of Trump's attempts to continue demonizing our immigrant communities. While I am glad that the justices upheld a basic principle of our democracy, we must keep fighting against these ongoing assaults and attempts to divide us. We are stronger together and we will get through this dark chapter if we keep fighting for each other.
