TRAFFIC ADVISORY | Lane Closures on I-64 East and West Beginning Monday, Oct. 13, in Franklin County

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of upcoming lane closures on Interstate 64 East and West beginning Monday, Oct. 13, in Franklin County.

The lane closures are necessary for KYTC bridge engineers to perform the routine, hands-on inspection of the I-64 twin bridges over the Kentucky River (mile point 55.5), located between the U.S. 127 and U.S. 60 exits.

Alternating directional right lane closures will occur daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the eastbound and westbound bridges beginning Monday, Oct. 13, through Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The twin bridges, constructed in 1963, undergo hands-on inspections every two years to assess the critical bridge members. Motorists should adhere to traffic control measures and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
