This month started a new chapter in Kentucky Medicaid's internal leadership experience, DMS NEXT! We welcomed a new group of bright and passionate staff members who are interested in improving their leadership skills. The group even had Commissioner Lisa Lee and Senior Deputy Commissioner Veronica Judy-Cecil stop by and welcome them. We're excited to see this group's journey over the next year!

Great news for Kentucky students! Kentucky Medicaid is awarding the Strengthening Health Integration iN Education (SHINE) KY grant to eight school districts: Bullitt, Clark, Henry, Jessamine, Johnson, Perry, Warren, and Wolfe counties to strengthen student mental health services.

These funds will help schools expand access to Medicaid and Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program (KCHIP) covered health services through staffing, training, technology, and community partnerships, making it easier for students to get the support they need right at school.

For more information, please visit the School-Based Services webpage at kidshealth.ky.gov.

If you don't live in Franklin County, there are programs for assistance you may be eligible for. Visit kynect.ky.gov or kidshealth.ky.gov for more information on food assistance programs like SNAP or the Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program (KCHIP).
