ROAD PROJECT UPDATE: Residents in the City of Frankfort living on Winnebago, Nippissing, and Michigan Avenue north of Leelanau Avenue will need to use Heffron Hill to enter and exit their homes over the next few days. Access from the south is expected to be restored before the weekend.

Residents on Leelanau Avenue, from Michigan Avenue to Second Street, will still be able to reach their homes, as Leelanau Avenue in this section will temporarily operate as a one-way street heading west during this period.

A sign will be placed at the top of Heffron Hill that will read “Local Traffic Only” to hopefully ensure you are getting your deliveries.

Please be advised that periodic road closures will occur in the coming weeks due to ongoing construction work along Michigan Avenue from Forest Avenue north to the base of Heffron Hill including Winnebago Street. Beginning Monday, April 6, these closures may affect normal traffic flow and could result in temporary delays. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed.

A messages for Republic Services Customers: "Monday, March 16, collection routes were cancelled and will not be rerouted to return this week. To accommodate this disruption, when drivers return on Monday, March 23, they will collect all accumulated trash placed at the curb during this time. We understand this is not ideal and is huge inconvenience for your staff/residents. This decision was not made lightly and was our last resort."

"Excluding Monday routes, collection will resume Wednesday and will operate on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week. For example, Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday, Wednesday’s route on Thursday, and so on. Please note that in an effort to complete all routes remaining for the week, collection crews may begin their routes earlier than normal on the remaining service days."

"We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to safely complete all remaining scheduled collections for the week."
