When the April 2025 flood impacted our facility, our crews didn’t miss a beat.
Instead of slowing down, our employees came together and transformed a workshop into a temporary break room and meeting space so operations could continue without interruption.

While we wait on long-term plans and funding for the future, our team continues to show what dedication, resilience, and pride in public service truly looks like.

These men and women work through emergencies, long hours, bad weather, and difficult conditions to keep Frankfort running every single day — often behind the scenes and without recognition.

Every day, the Frankfort Sewer Department treats millions of gallons of wastewater to protect our community and the Kentucky River.

Here’s how you can help keep our system running strong:

🚫 No “flushable” wipes – they don’t break down and can clog pipes
🛢 Keep grease out of drains – it hardens and causes backups
🌧 Report standing water near manholes – it may indicate a problem

Our crews work 24/7 maintaining sewer lines, pump stations, and treatment facilities to prevent backups and protect public health.

👏 **Customer Appreciation for Our Sewer Department Crew**

We recently received a kind letter from a Frankfort resident recognizing the efforts of several members of our Frankfort Sewer Department team.

When a sewer issue arose at her home, **Scotty Manns quickly coordinated a camera inspection**, and once the problem was identified, our **construction crew responded within just a few days** to replace a portion of the sewer line in the City’s right-of-way and remove tree roots affecting the line.

The resident specifically recognized **Scotty Manns, Tim Auberry, Mike Crawford, David Simpson, and Steven Hudson** for being friendly, professional, and taking the time to explain the work and answer questions along the way.

She shared that it was clear the crew **takes pride in their work and truly goes above and beyond for the citizens of Frankfort.**

We’re proud of our team and appreciate the dedication they show every day serving our community. Thank you to Diana Robertson for taking the time to share this note of appreciation!
