The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Division of Structural Design is hiring for an Engineer-I-Training II in Franklin County.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn how to design highway structures in accordance with KYTC requirements as well as in accordance with the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

This position is responsible for the design of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, detailing structures in accordance with design, and checking designs of other engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural analysis and computer modeling, detailing structures using MicroStation, and designing structures using AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

Looking for a new opportunity for the new year? The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Department of Vehicle Regulation is hiring for an Transportation Engineer Supervisor in Westview, KY.

By joining our KYTC as a Transportation Engineer Supervisor in Breckinridge County, you’ll have the opportunity to be a supervisor for the District 4 Hardinsburg Section, overseeing professional and technical personnel in the construction and maintenance of highways, structures, and facilities. This position oversees roadway construction operations and staff for 910 miles of state-maintained roadways in Breckinridge, Grayson and Meade counties.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Coordinating with contractors and inspection personnel to ensure work is performed and documented according to requirements and that material samples are being obtained, tested and documented, preparing estimates for construction and maintenance projects including resurfacing, guardrail, roadway embankment, and large drainage structures to provide compensation to contractors for documented work, participating in new project team meetings to evaluate design plan alternatives to fill the need and shape the future of transportation in Breckinridge, Grayson, and Meade Counties, and visiting maintenance and construction projects to ensure work is being performed according to plans, manuals and specifications and training and mentoring employees.
