🚀Our facilities continue to raise the bar!🚀

Recently, Mayfield Youth Development Center and Fayette Regional Juvenile Detention Center passed their federal PREA audits, not only meeting but exceeding several standards! Federal PREA audits ensure correctional facilities are in compliance with ferderal laws mandating proper supervision ratios while protecting juveniles from sexual harrassment. Standards these facilities exeeded include training, reporting, resident education and zero tolerance of sexual abuse and sexual harrassment.

These successful audits mean that juveniles in our custody are safe and secure while being equipped to make the best of their second chances. Thank you to the staff at each of these facilities for your hard work in shaping the future of these juveniles and making all of Team Kentucky proud.

⭐ Leadership Spotlight: Jason Jett ⭐

Superintendent Jett began his career with the department in 2000 and has since remained dedicated to helping Kentucky’s youth build safer, happier and more successful futures. After spending 12 years as a counselor and four years as a Youth Services Program Supervisor, Jett became the superintendent at Jackson Group Home in 2018.

Superintendent Jett earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology with an emphasis in criminology from Morehead State University (TAG). He says his motivation for this work comes from a desire to help juveniles and make a positive difference in their lives.

We are thankful for leaders like Jason Jett who continue working every day to support and guide Kentucky’s youth.

Three young Kentuckians are stepping into their next chapter after graduating from the Hardin County Day Treatment program during its first-ever in-house graduation ceremony. 🎓

Education creates opportunity, and we’re excited to see where these young learners go next. Two graduates are entering the workforce, while another will continue their education at college this fall. We’re grateful for the dedicated DJJ staff, teachers and community partners who walked alongside these students throughout their journey — helping them grow and succeed towards a bright future. Congratulations, graduates! 🎉
