*** UPDATE ***

With the received precipitation, Wildfire Danger has lowered to MODERATE. That does not mean for anyone and everyone to go burn their brush piles!! The state of West Virginia still has the Spring Wildfire Burn Restriction in place. All requirements within this state law must be followed or individuals are subject to fines and penalties by the state of WV, which are being enforced!

Conditions can change very quickly for wildfire occurrence and growth. Use caution and be vigilant when having any outdoor fire anytime, especially in the spring, fall, and when dry conditions are present. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

*** URGENT Notice***

Over the next few days, the weather conditions are prime for wildfire potential. Fire danger is HIGH. The state of West Virginia is currently in our Spring Burn Restriction Season.

At this time, Frankford Fire recommends holding off on any outdoor fires. Later this week, precipitation is forecast for the region so the fire danger may decrease some. We will keep our communities advised of future changes. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Yesterday was a busy day for the 120 house. 10 of Frankford Fire's Finest started the day at 6:00 AM attending a Propane Emergency seminar at the WV State Fairgrounds. This training has been in the works since last year when the bulk propane facility opened in Frankford. All firefighters went through the morning classroom training, then during the afternoon we moved into the live fire portion of the course. Wonderful class and very informative!!

After the conclusion of the training for the day, St.120 was alerted to assist Lewisburg FD for a fast moving brush fire in the Caldwell area. Engine 01, Quick Attack 04, Command 06, Brush 05 and 8 personnel responded. Frankford Firefighters cut in fire lines and assisted WV Division of Forestry with back fires. Frankford Assistant Chief Crone also deployed a drone to assist with initial fire size. Fire breaks, back fires, and main fire was contained to under 65 acres. Last 120 unit returned to station at 10:30 PM. Amazing job by all on scene!!!

Pictures and videos include all of Frankford Fire's activities for the day.

**URGENT TRAVEL UPDATE**

Anyone traveling US 219 between Maxwelton and Frankford, please use extreme caution in the Savannah Lane area. With the high winds and snow conditions from yesterday into today, the weather has made the roadway very slick with snow drifts. White Out conditions are very likely to occur in this area of US 219 until the high winds settle down later tonight and into tomorrow.

Please slow down and take your time as some areas on US 219 could experience the narrowing of lanes if not obstructed by snow drifts. WVDOH is working this area to keep both lanes open with heavy equipment and plow trucks. The wind and blowing snow is making this a very difficult task.
