As school winds down for the summer, we wanted to share more information about the Michigan Activity Pass.

This is a resource that every library cardholder has access to- and they might not even realize it!

What a fantastic summer program!

A HUGE thank you to Cyndy and Elaine from the Frankenmuth Herb Society for not only teaching us about summer’s most popular herbs, but also leading us in creating our own little herb gardens! 🪴

Another day, another accolade!

Last night we shared that 8 of the Top 10 students from Frankenmuth's Class of 2026 were members of our Teen Advisory Board (TAB.) And tonight we're resharing a photo from the Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan. ALL 6 of these young people are Wickson Library TAB members!

Here's what the Rescue Ministries had to say about this wonderful group:

"Frankenmuth High School's "Be the Change" team is a diverse group of individuals dedicated to making the world a better place, one day at a time 💟. Each month they come to City Rescue Mission to celebrate our kids' with a "birthday party"🎉🎈! From karaoke and face painting to balloon animals and cupcakes, these high schoolers take over the family dining room, and the kids have a ball‼ On May 19, we celebrated 6 of the seniors who will soon be graduating and moving on to college. Best wishes to all and thank you for serving the children of our community!"

It's been brought to our attention that many of our patrons are accidentally opting OUT of their text message alerts because the initial message comes from the Valley Library Consortium (VLC.)

If you accidentally opted out of your text alerts (which includes holds and overdue notices) you can reactivate your notifications by texting START to 60896. 🤳

Thank you for your patience as we learn the ins and outs of this new system. We hope this information is helpful!

Learn something new this summer! 🖍 ☀

This You Can Draw book can be found on the NEW shelf in our Tween section! Filled with over 80 drawings to master, it's the perfect book for those long summer days at home.

We had a roaring good time at our Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party!

Over 1000 people stalked, stampeded, and slithered through our doors to sign up for our special events and register to read!

Thank you to all of the people who helped make this event a smashing success:
🍨Weiss Centennial Farm for the ice cream treats!
🦖Our helpful patrons who lent out their dino gear!
☀The Wickson Teen Advisory Board for volunteering their valuable time!
🌿And a special shout out to our very own Beth Emmons for coming in after-hours to transform the library into an other-worldly dino adventure!

Per usual, the special events for children filled up in record time (many of them are currently waitlisted) but we're happy to report that there is still space available for a few of our tween and adult programs! Stop by or give us a call to register for those!

And of course, everyone is welcome to register for a reading log (and adopt a dino) anytime between now and July 6th!
