Late post tonight. Today, we remembered and tonight we honor the lives lost. We took a ride to find some views of the Honor Summit. 🎖

We were surprised we could not see it from Main St Bethlehem, as Mt Washington is so beautifully framed during the day.

Naturally, the Mount Washington Hotel area was quite swamped and light pollution was still pretty heavy.

Next, we tried Beech Hill and with absolutely no light pollution (except my brake lights that take a ridiculously long time to go out when you want them to), but tree obstruction.

Then Prospect St. Where we found a couple of good spots, and other cars with the same thought.

Spotlight Saturday! Happy Birthday to The Colonial Theatre 🎉
Cheers to 111 years of film, live performances, and community.
Let's celebrate at their annual Raise a Glass fundraiser on Thursday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m.

This year’s celebration brings a little mystery, intrigue, and cinematic glamour to The Colonial for an evening inspired by classic film noir. Guests can walk the red carpet dressed as a hard-boiled detective, mysterious stranger, glamorous femme fatale or simply come in their favorite festive attire and enjoy an evening supporting The Colonial’s programming, mission, and historic preservation efforts.

Throughout the evening, guests can enjoy food, a bar, raffles, auction prizes, games, and more, all leading up to an exclusive screening of the 85th anniversary classic The Maltese Falcon. This year, supporters don’t have to be in the room to take part in all the fun. New for 2026, silent auction items will be available for online bidding beginning Monday, September 14, giving community members the opportunity to support The Colonial even if they are not able to attend the event in person.

Proceeds from Raise a Glass support The Colonial and its work to bring high quality film, live performances, family programming, and community events to the North Country while preserving its historic theatre for generations to come.

Tickets are $50, with raffle tickets available for pre-purchase for use on item raffles. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the event.

Tell me, did you think our Chamber was just Franconia too??

Some conversations I have been having this week let me know that there is a misconception about the area we serve!
FNRCC is a *Regional* Chamber. This means that while our primary "headquarters" (if you want to call it that) IS in Franconia, we have members throughout a large area that includes many towns.

Our neighbor towns are just as important to our mission and are all part of our community. Check out our beautiful rack cards below that tell you a little more.

Our identity is not as a town in isolation but as a larger community of many towns that all contribute to the reasons this region is an amazing place to both live in and visit!

Just think of all the folks coming up through the notch...where else might they be here to see?
