So as many of you seen on Facebook and through the postcard we sent out we held a recruitment open house yesterday at our fire station. Many of our younger members spent a lot of time planning and scheduling this event they even took time from work to visit with students during their lunch hour at Mishicot High School. Yesterday we did not have a single person show up to our event. This was very discouraging to many of our young organizers. So area community members give us ideas on how to get more people to step up to the plate now!!! When your house and all your belongings are burning in front of your eyes who is going to come????? When a loved one is having a medical emergency who is going to respond????? This is not only a problem in Francis Creek, Manitowoc County or the state of Wisconsin it is a problem in the entire USA!!! Don’t think you can call a neighboring fire or ems unit we are all hurting for help!!!! So people step up and tell us how to recruit new members!!!! Please all fire and ems agency’s please share this post and I encourage everyone to share this post and honestly think about volunteering!!!!
