MetroWest Health Foundation

MetroWest Health Foundation The MetroWest Health Foundation is one of the largest independent health care philanthropies in the state.

We provide more than $5 million in grants a year to address unmet health needs in the MetroWest area of Boston. The MetroWest Health Foundation provides grants to individuals and organizations working to improve the health of a 25-town region of Massachusetts. We support and develop community health programs that provide care to the region's most vulnerable residents and address issues such as you

th substance abuse, childhood obesity and racial and ethnic health disparities. The Foundation has provided more than $35 million in funding for health prevention, wellness and education programs that help residents of all ages lead healthier lives. We also serve as a resource for community organizations by collecting and sharing health data, providing leadership training and scholarships to health professionals and improving the capacity of local health care providers.

March 24 is World Tuberculosis Day. Tuberculosis has long been one of the world’s deadliest infectious diseases, shaping the evolution of modern public health.

In the early 20th century, the Framingham Tuberculosis Demonstration, one of the first community-based participatory research (CBPR) efforts, brought together residents, researchers, and institutions to better understand disease transmission, expand prevention, and organize communities around health. This moment reminds us that public health has always been collective work. As TB continues to disproportionately impact marginalized communities globally, World Tuberculosis Day invites us to reflect on the ongoing need for equity-driven prevention, accessible care, and community-centered approaches to health.
