This week we blasted off to our space-themed Blue & Gold Banquet, a celebration of the history of scouting! We sang songs, did some skits, had an awesome Taco Tuesday, ate ice cream, and crossed over two cub scouts who earned their Arrow of Light (Congrats Brody & Mason!)

We're getting ready for our big Spring Family Campout! This week we took a look at "Camp Oh No!" (an example of what NOT to do!) and practiced setting up tents, while our Bears honed their skills by making potato stamps with their new Opinel pocket knives!

Scout Salute 🫡 for our Charter Organization Representative Mr Jim Braden, for his recent recognition for service to the Fox Island community! Mr Braden has been involved in Scouting since the 1970s and is an ardent supporter of Cub Scout Pack 27 Fox Island! Thank you for your service to our community!

At the March Fox Island FICRA Board Meeting, Fire Chief Dennis Doan, along with Fox Island residents Craig McLaughlin and Jim Braden, were honored with a Certificate of Recognition for their outstanding leadership and service to the Fox Island community.

This award acknowledges their tireless advocacy for fair fire protection ratings, their commitment to strengthening emergency preparedness, and their collaborative efforts in response to a significant downgrade in the island’s fire protection rating by the Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau (WSRB).

The downgrade caused many Fox Island residents to face steep increases in insurance premiums and in some cases, even lose coverage entirely. Thanks to the determination and advocacy of Chief Doan, Craig, and Jim, the WSRB recently completed a reassessment and reinstated the island's previous, more favorable rating, leading to lower insurance premiums and meaningful savings for local taxpayers.

Please join us in recognizing Chief Doan, Craig McLaughlin, and Jim Braden for their dedication, persistence, and the lasting positive impact they've made on our community.

Pack 27 congratulates our Arrow of Light Scouts who “crossed over” tonight at the Blue and Gold Banquet! The Arrow of Light is the highest rank achieved in Cub Scouts and is the culmination of hard work and dedication to the Scout Oath and Law. Special thank you to Troop 217 and BSA Troop 212 for welcoming our AOLs into your programs! We are so proud of these Scouts and wish everyone the best as they continue their journey. Thank you to our families, Den Leaders, and adult volunteers who put in the work to help these Scouts be successful. We hope everyone remembers the Cub Scout motto and continues to Do Your Best, daily! 💙💛⚜️

Lions and Tigers, oh my! Our “Liger” den took a night hike tonight and had fun with flashlights! We did some leaf stenciling to finish off the Tigers in the Wild Adventure 🥾 🐯 ⚜️

Tonight, as we do each year, Cub Scout Pack 27 Fox Island managed the campfire at the annual Fox Island FICRA Christmas Tree Lighting event! And this year we had a new trick up our sleeves... we offered s'mores kits for donations!

So many happy faces around the fire tonight! It is our privilege to live and play in such a wonderful community full of love, warmth, and cheer. Thank you Fox Island, and to all a scout night! 🔥🍫✌️🎄🎅✨
