Thank you Vice Chair City Commissioner Chair Deeley and Philadelphia City Controller for hosting the third annual Northeast Government Open House! Northeast Philadelphia is often forgotten. As I work to invest in our communities, events like this allow neighbors to meet their government officials, talk, and resolve problems.

My team and I enjoyed meeting our Northeast Philly community at the event.

I’m proud to announce over $1,000,000 will be coming to Northeast Philadelphia!!

This money will be for investments in People Acting to Help (PATH) and Jeanes Hospital!

Both PATH and Jeanes help Northeast Philadelphians daily. This funding will allow both entities to continue their crucial work for our neighborhood.

Not only is Jalen Hurts an outstanding leader at the Linc on Sundays, but he’s a true pillar in our community. I am grateful that he is donating $600,000 to install AC units at Northeast High School. This necessary investment will make the learning environment safer for all students!

This week, I joined my colleagues in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for a historic special session in Congress Hall. Here, in Philadelphia, the United States Congress met and established the foundations for our great nation.

250 years after our nation was formed, I was proud to represent the people of Northeast Philadelphia at this historic session.

As part of the celebration, I welcomed Northeast High School senior, Kayden Varughese. He had a day of learning about our country’s founding and civic engagement.
