Good evening friends!

Well it’s that fantastic time of year again when the weather is heating up and so is the competition, learning and fun in Fowlerville.

Running June 22nd through June 25th is our Fire and Police Youth Academy.

Every summer FAFD along with Fowlerville PD invite kids from all over the community to partake in training, medical education, leadership excersises and amongst other things…we get to play with the FIRE TRUCKS!!!

So if your kid has a knack for problem solving on the fly, putting other’s needs above their own, and just wanting to make the world and community a better place for all. Then swing into the Police Department or send an email to the address listed below for a sign up sheet to get them registered for academy.

And as always…stay safe and have a great night!

Hello friends, with storm season upon us, we wanted to send out some tips and tricks to help you stay safe.

Always assume that downed lines are live! Even if you think it might be just a telephone line, keep in mind that line may have fallen and came into contact with the power lines that are out of your line of sight.

If you see a downed line of any sort, be careful and give our friends at Central a buzz…no pun intended…and they’ll be happy to get us rolling and the problem on its way to being mitigated.

As always stay safe out there and have a wonderful night!

Today is Administrative Professionals Day.

And around here, that’s our Anna.

If you know this job, you know how fast things escalate and can get outta control.

She answers the phone when we don’t.
She keeps things organized when we won’t.
She handles the details when we don’t.
And she fixes things that we can’t!

And she does it with patience most of us don’t deserve.

Firefighters aren’t the easiest to wrangle, but she does it with ease!

Departments don’t run on radios and rigs alone.

They run on people who keep everything together behind the scenes.

Anna is our person, and we love her dearly.

Thank you, Anna. We appreciate you more than you know.

If you’ve worked with her or been helped by her, take a second and leave her a comment below.

Just an FYI for our citizens!

📢Big changes are happening this weekend‼️

⚠️After months of preparation, Livingston Hospital, in Howell, will officially transition operations to its newly constructed facility in Brighton.

🚑Beginning early Sunday morning (April 19), Livingston County EMS will transport all current patients from the Livingston Hospital in Howell to the new Brighton location. If you are traveling along Grand River that day, you may notice an increased presence of ambulances as crews work to safely relocate each patient.

📝Please note:
• EMS will no longer transport patients to Trinity Health Livingston Hospital starting Sunday morning.
• The Emergency Department will remain fully staffed and continue providing care until all current patients have been treated and discharged.

🎉This marks a historic milestone for our community. Our teams are committed to ensuring a safe, coordinated transition with the highest level of care throughout the process.

Be careful tonight friends! Be prepared!Stay safe out there.

Good evening friends,

As some of you may know, your FAFD firefighters have been on a lot of grass fires lately.

Below are a few tips to try to curb these calls and make our community a little safer for all.

If you are going to burn grass or debris, please make sure it is safe and legal to burn what you are burning, and also make sure that it is not on a windy day!

We’ve had some dry weather the past few days and everything on top of the damp ground has dried out and has become extremely flammable.

Please do not leave your brush pile unattended while it is burning, have tools to extinguish if needed, and a source of water for anything that gets out of control.

But also DO NOT HESITATE to call 911 if your fire does get out of hand.

As always….stay safe and have a great day!

Over the past month or so we’ve been able to utilize a property in town to do some downed firefighter rescue! We were able to do bailouts, victim rescue, window transitions and brushed up on our room escape methods. All of these things help us be a safer and more experienced department.

Stay safe my friends!

Good morning my friends, last weekend we had the nostalgic pleasure of being able to do some training at Munn Middle School.

This building holds so many memories in its hallowed halls that we thought we’d take the opportunity to make a few more before she’s gone.

We were able to take advantage and do some roof operations with Ladder 41, did some forcible entry on some of the lockers, and even did some search and rescue training after filling some rooms up with smoke from our fog machine.

This was an awesome opportunity for your FAFD Firefighters and we thank you for that.

As always have a great day and be safe out there!
