Flags are going up around town in recognition of upcoming Flag Day on June 14th. The Fountain Flag Program is on its 3rd year and, thanks to our volunteers, flags are proudly flying for many occasions starting with Memorial Day each year.
All proceeds are invested in maintenance for the program-- new flags, yard spikes, yard caps-- and, as we grow, monies will go toward restoration of the community hall.
If you are interested for next year, let us know and we'll get you on the list and remind you next spring!

PUBLIC INVITED TO LEARN ABOUT HWY 52 PROJECT FROM CHATFIELD TO FOUNTAIN:
Chatfield & Fountain, MN.-The public is invited to attend an in-person meeting on Tuesday, June 16 or Wednesday, June 17 to learn more about a project that will repair culverts on Highway 52, resurface the roadway and realign the intersection of West Country Road 8, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Join the project team to learn about the planned culvert work, safety improvements and resurfacing of Highway 52 from Chatfield to Fountain. Construction is anticipated to occur in 2027 and 2028. The meeting is drop-in style, so no formal presentation is planned. People may visit and leave at their convenience. Those who are unable to attend can find the information shared at the meeting on the project website.
Identical information will be shared at both meetings. The first meeting will be held June 16th, 4-6 p.m. at the Fountain Community Center, 95 Main Street, Fountain, MN. The Second meeting will be held June 17th, 4-6 p.m. at the Chatfield City Hall, 21 2nd Street SE, Chatfield, MN. MnDOT invites and encourages participation by all.

The Fountain City Office will be closed May 25th through the 29th.

Hydrant flushing will start around 7:00-8:00 a.m. Saturday May 9th it will take around 6 hours to complete the entire town. Make sure you run your water clear before using. Hydrant flushing will be done twice a year. Thank you Environmental Water Services!

With the possibility of freezing tonight the hydrant flushing has been moved to Saturday May 9th.

Environmental Water Services will be flushing the Fountain hydrants May 2, 2026. Make sure to run your water till clear before using.

The Fountain Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at the city pump house early this morning. It was an electrical fire and repairs were quickly implemented. Thank you to our firemen for their quick response!
NOTE: The city water is safe for public consumption.
