If you’re anything like the members of Fountain Rural Fire, then you enjoy a good backyard BBQ with family and friends during the nice evenings of Summertime! ☀️🌭

With that being said, we wanted to share some quick safety tips to keep in mind when Grilling! Whether you’re grilling burgers and hotdogs on propane, or charcoal, we want to encourage you to remain safe while enjoying cooking the tasty food without having us and neighboring departments pay as visit to your home!

🚨Grant Recipient Announcement 🚨

The members of Fountain Rural Fire are pleased to announced that we were selected as one of the recipients for the State Farm & National Volunteer Fire Council Laptop Grant! State Farm and the National Volunteer Fire Council teamed up to donate up to 500 laptops to eligible fire departments that applied, and Fountain Rural Fire was lucky enough to be selected to receive one of the donated laptops!

This laptop will be a key asset for members, and our officers; as it’ll allow members to do online training to further their education, as well as allow our officers to complete fire reports from their home, while they spend time with their families!

For the second year, State Farm® has teamed up with the NVFC to provide 100 eligible fire departments with five previously owned laptops each.

Members of Fountain Rural Fire are honored to share that we were selected as the department of the month for June, by Pitt Community College Fire & Emergency Management! We are very appreciative of this shoutout, and for the continued partnership with PCC Fire & Emergency Management!

We extend our congratulations to Fountain Rural Fire Association for being chosen as our Department of the Month for June. With a rich history dating back to 1954 and serving a 65-square-mile area of Pitt County, encompassing a population of 2500 residents, they play a vital role in maintaining safety within our western service area. Back in the last part of April Donnie Greene invited us to come and talk to his Public Safety class at Farmville Central High School. I would like to thank Macclesfield Rural Volunteer Fire Department and Farmville Fire Department for sending a truck and members to help. Thank you Donnie and we look forward to next year.

Today, Fountain Rural Fire had Rhinehart Fire Services in town to service our Scott Air-packs, as well as our Scott Rapid Intervention Team Pack. Each year, our SCBA’s are tested to ensure they’re flowing compressed air throughout the system properly, while also ensuring our PASS devices, which are activated in Mayday situations, are all functioning properly! This is extremely important to ensure the safety of our members!

On Saturday morning, members of Fountain Rural Fire took time to reorganize and mount equipment on Engine 5403! This allows members to find equipment easier on emergency scenes, ensuring tools are put into service as quick as possible during emergency calls. This also shows the pride the members of Fountain Rural Fire take in our apparatus and equipment!

The members of Fountain Rural Fire are pleased to announce that we received a $19,000 grant, which is awarded through the 2026 Volunteer Fire Grant Fund from the State of North Carolina! This grant we were awarded is a matching grant, so we will be receiving a total of $38,000.

Members of Fountain Rural Fire are extremely thankful for the grant we were awarded, as this allows the department to buy necessary equipment to allow us to serve our community to the best of our ability!

Please join the members of Fountain Rural Fire in congratulating Firefighter, Brayden Culifer, as he was selected as one of the recipients for the North Carolina State Firefighters Association, Grant Program scholarship for the Eastern Region!

Brayden has been a committed member of Fountain Rural Fire since he has been 14 years old, as he started as a Junior Firefighter, following in the footsteps of his father, Deputy Chief David Culifer. We send our wishes of continued success for Brayden, as he graduates High School, and continues his academic studies in college!
