Sometimes the need is bigger than any one existing agency can meet-so United Way of Fostoria helps found new ones. That's how HOPE in Fostoria, a substance abuse prevention agency, First Call for Help Fostoria, and Getting Ahead all came to be. When Fostoria needed a resource, United Way brought the right people together to create it. That's the difference between writing a check and building a community.

One gift to United Way of Fostoria funds a network of 16 trusted local partners, including the Fostoria Area Senior Citizens Center, Patchworks House, F.A.C.T. (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment), Red Cross, Getting Ahead, the Fostoria Learning Center's adult education and GED programs, First Step domestic violence shelter, North Central Area Transportation, Black Swamp Scouting, Girl Scouts, DayBreak, HOPE in Fostoria, Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Geary Family YMCA — including Wonderland Childcare and youth sports and recreation scholarships.
One campaign. Sixteen agencies. One community.

That's our role: connector and convener. We bring agencies to the same table, identify where the gaps are, and coordinate a response instead of leaving every organization to solve problems alone.
