Is your child interested in golf? Check this out!

The program gives kids 6 - 18 a potentially free year-long membership that grants access to $5 rounds of golf at over 30 courses in the Hoosier State.

Organizers tell News 8's Hernan Gutierrez that golf can be expensive, but they're hoping to grow the game by alleviating the financial burden.

Partnerships that build the future. Workforce pathways that transform lives. Communities leading the way.

The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation was honored to join our incredible partners at Hancock County Career Center -HC3 Amplify for a powerful tour showcasing the future of education, workforce development, and economic growth in Hancock County.

MVEF Executive Director Renee Oldham joined Don Cates, President & CEO of 3Rivers Federal Credit Union, and Kelly Leddy, Community Relationship Manager, along with HC3 Director and Amplify Executive Director Stan Wilkinson, to see firsthand the exciting opportunities being created for students and adult learners across our county.

For the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation, this work is deeply aligned with our mission and why we continue to invest in workforce and career-connected learning opportunities for students. Over the past five years, MVEF has proudly supported career development initiatives by underwriting industry certification testing costs for each Mt. Vernon student, helping launch the inaugural Criminal Justice Program, and supporting aviation pathway development by helping create early exposure and student pipeline opportunities beginning at the middle school level.

Why? Because we believe students deserve opportunities to discover their passions, build confidence, gain real-world skills, and graduate prepared for successful futures β€” whether that path leads directly into the workforce, technical training, college, healthcare, public safety, aviation, entrepreneurship, or beyond.

This transformational work is only possible through strong partnerships between education, business, healthcare, Hancock County Government Leadership, Hancock County Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and community organizations like Hancock Health Ivy Tech Community College, Hancock County Career Center -HC3 Amplify Hancock, and community-minded partners like 3Rivers Federal Credit Union

Together, we are not simply talking about workforce development β€” we are building the future talent pipeline that will strengthen economic growth, opportunity, and quality of life across Hancock County for generations to come.

The future is being created right here through innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to students.
