Wahóȟpi Kiŋ - The Nest Located within the boundaries of the Standing Rock Reservation in Fort Yates, ND on the Sitting Bull College grounds.

The Lakota Language Nest is a Lakota language pre-K-grade 6 immersion school located on the Sitting Bull College campus in Fort Yates, North Dakota on Standing Rock Lakota & Dakota traditional territory. The Nest pulls from various established best early childhood & elementary self-directed learning practices and all those are instructed solely in the Lakota language. Not limited to language in ed

ucational and age appropriate concepts, Lakota cultural immersion is a part of the students' day with the use of Lakota kinship terminology, prayer infused through out classroom routine, and adherence to Lakota protocols and values. Our vision is to equip our students with the tools of the Lakota language, cultural identity, and confidence to lead successful lives. Our students are our leaders and our prophecy, they will lead our people to health, happiness, success, and healing.
