Sherman, Texas – The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a Toyota Corolla that fled after it was involved in a fatal crash on July 22, 2026, at approximately 2:51 p.m. at the intersection of US-82 and Smith Oak Rd in unincorporated Grayson County.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on US-82 when the driver of the Toyota Corolla failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle.

The motorcycle operator was transported to the Texoma Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. The passenger was transported to the Texoma Medical Center with serious injuries.

The North Texas Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the driver of the Toyota Corolla.
