Already served in the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Navy?

Looking for a way to continue serving without starting your military career all over again?

The Navy Reserve may be an option — and eligible prior-service members do NOT attend Navy Recruit Training (Boot Camp) again.

You already earned that experience. You don’t have to start from square one.

📋 ONE IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT:
To qualify as prior service, you must have successfully completed the initial entry training/boot camp for your respective branch of service.

🇺🇸 TIRED OF DRIVING HOURS FOR ONE DRILL WEEKEND?

THE NAVY RESERVE CAN KEEP YOUR DRILL LOCATION CLOSE TO HOME. ⚓

One of the biggest advantages of the Navy Reserve is the way TRUIC and UIC assignments can allow Sailors to drill at a Navy Reserve Center near where they live, even when their operational unit is located somewhere else.

For example, you could have an operational unit in another city but complete your regular monthly drills at the Navy Reserve Center closer to home.

The Navy Reserve calls this being cross-assigned — your operational unit may be somewhere else, while your regular IDT/drill location is with your local Reserve Center. (Navy Reserve⁠)

That can mean:

🚗 Less time on the road
⛽ Less money spent commuting
🏠 Stay closer to home and family
💼 Easier to balance your civilian career
⚓ Still serve in the Navy Reserve and work toward retirement!

Compared with some other Reserve components, where your assigned unit may require you to travel significant distances for drill, the Navy Reserve has a large network of Navy Reserve Centers that can provide local drilling opportunities.

You served before. You don’t have to spend your weekends driving across the state to keep serving.
