Putting Tarrant County taxpayers first means responsible appraisal policy.

This week, the Tarrant Appraisal District Board approved the appraisal plan for 2027 and 2028:

✅Biennial residential appraisals beginning in 2027, aligned with the state's Property Value Study.

✅Clear and convincing evidence required to support calculated market-value increases greater than 5%.

✅The right to appeal every year—even in years when residential properties are not scheduled for reappraisal.

The goal is straightforward: greater stability and predictability for property owners while ensuring TAD meets its responsibilities and our taxing entities have a reliable appraisal base.

All Tarrant County Tax Office locations will be closed Monday, September 7, 2026, for the County holiday in observance of Labor Day.

All Tax Office locations will reopen on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m.

Taxing units that the Tarrant County Tax Office collects for are currently in the process of adopting their tax rates for next year.

The adopted tax rate is the tax rate set by the governing body of each taxing unit.

Deadline: September 30 All tax rates must be set by taxing entities by this date.

The page includes a table showing this year’s rates along with the previous four years. Not all taxing units listed are serviced by the Tarrant County Tax Office (those are marked with an asterisk).

Note: Taxing units for which the Tarrant County Tax Office collects taxes must submit their adopted tax rates to the Tax Office by September 21, 2026, in accordance with their collection contract. The September 30 deadline is the statutory date by which all taxing entities must adopt their rates.
