Y'all, we are so lucky to have the Fort Worth Public Library! From day one they have been such a wonderful partner to the Fort Worth Songwriter Festival, and for several years now they've been supporting local artists through their amplify817 program. We are truly blessed in Fort Worth.

On Saturday, November 14, as part of our festival programming, we've teamed up with the Fort Worth Public Library and amplify817 to bring you a special stage, free of charge, in the Dickson-Jenkins Courtyard (directly next door to Tulips FTW) with some amazing Amplify 817 artists.

The courtyard will also have a special market on that Saturday organized by our good friends at Wandering Roots Markets!

UPDATE: Golden Triangle Library will be open today during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (updated Oct. 21 at 9:13 a.m.). If you had holds ready to be picked up, they will be extended for three days.

Today is our 125th birthday! 🎉

Since 1901, the Fort Worth Public Library has welcomed generations of Fort Worthians—whether they came searching for knowledge, community or simply a good book. Over the decades, we've evolved to meet the needs of our city while staying true to our mission of service.

The Fort Worth Carnegie Public Library opened its doors on Oct. 17, 1901, with 250 people visiting on the first day. Although the building was complete and had a collection of 6,907 books, there were problems with it. The library was to be heated with steam radiators, but the contractor had installed the wrong boiler. The chandeliers for the library also did not arrive until six weeks after the library opened.
