Growing together, serving together. 🤝

Last week, our DFW team gathered for a Staff Development Day focused on learning more about our strengths, personalities, and spiritual gifts.

It was an encouraging time to reflect on how God has uniquely gifted each of us—and how we can use those gifts to serve His Kingdom and our refugee and immigrant neighbors with excellence and purpose.

We walked away with a deeper understanding of ourselves, a greater appreciation for one another, and a renewed reminder that we’re better when we serve together.

Grateful for this team and the unique ways God has called each of us to make an impact! 🙌

Starting the school year equipped and encouraged! 🎒📚

As students headed back to school, St. John’s United Methodist Church stepped up to bless refugee students in the Austin community. Their generosity provided 47 students—from kindergarten through 12th grade, as well as college and adult learners—with backpacks filled with school supplies to help them start the semester prepared and confident.

And the blessing didn’t stop there! Four incredible volunteers—Bob, Garrett, Maryam, and Merlin—delivered all 47 backpacks before school began, driving a combined 132 miles across the greater Austin area to make sure families were ready for the year ahead. 💙

We’re so grateful for partners and volunteers who show up for our refugee neighbors in meaningful ways. Thank you, St. John’s, and thank you to our amazing volunteers for helping students start the school year strong! 🙌

Serving, learning, and advocating together! 🙌

During DBU’s SWAT Week, students had the opportunity to serve our immigrant community through a prayer walk and trash pickup, learn more about advocacy through an in-depth presentation, and use their voices by writing letters to their elected representatives.

We’re grateful for DBU students who chose to spend their SWAT Week serving their neighbors, learning about the needs of our immigrant community, and taking meaningful steps toward making a difference.

Thank you, DBU, for serving alongside us! 💙
