Tarrant County residents have several opportunities this fall to strengthen their emergency preparedness skills.

Upcoming Emergency Preparedness Sessions at Fort Worth community centers include Emergency Preparedness 101, Hands-Only CPR, and Stop-the-Bleed training. These workshops provide practical, lifesaving information to help individuals and families prepare for emergencies and respond when every second counts.

Sessions are being offered at multiple locations through November.

Being prepared starts with knowing what to do before an emergency happens.

[Sunday 9/6, 5:17AM]: Good morning! A Heat Advisory is in effect Sunday for much of NTX where heat index values up to 108 degrees are expected. Isolated storms may develop again across Central TX (20-30% chance). Going into Labor Day Monday, expect hot and dry conditions to continue.

Arlington friends!

We’ll be out at Preparedness in the Park on Saturday, September 19 supporting City of Arlington, TX - City Hall emergency preparedness event , and we’d love for you to stop by and say hello!

This free event is a great chance to learn how to build a 72‑hour emergency kit, create a family plan, understand outdoor warning sirens, and more. There will be fun activities for kids, food trucks, and even a chance to win a free emergency kit (for the first 25 people who complete the booth bingo card).

Yesterday at Commissioners Court, we were honored to receive a proclamation recognizing National Preparedness Month.

Our team works hard year round to help Tarrant County stay ready for any emergency. We encourage everyone to take simple steps to prepare such as building an emergency kit, making a plan, and staying informed.

A huge thank you to the Commissioners Court for highlighting the importance of preparedness and for recognizing our dedicated Emergency Management team!

Tarrant County Emergency Management had a great time participating in the Hand in Hand Resource Fair!

Our team had the opportunity to connect with hundreds of community members, distribute emergency preparedness information and resources, and have meaningful conversations about the importance of being prepared before disaster strikes.

Community outreach is an important part of emergency management. Events like this allow us to meet residents where they are, answer questions, share practical preparedness information, and help individuals and families better understand the steps they can take to stay safe and resilient during emergencies.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit with our team, and to the organizers of the Hand in Hand Resource Fair for giving us the opportunity to engage with and serve our community.
