Dr Charles Riedl was my teacher at the High School for Engineering Professions at Dunbar High School.
He is a wonderful person and teacher. He made calculus easy to understand and enjoyable. I am grateful that I was able to thank him recently for believing in me. This honor is deserved Dr. Reidl!!!
Fort Worth ISD
As the longest-serving teacher in Fort Worth ISD, Charles Reidl has witnessed decades of change over his 57-year career, from hand-cranked copy machines to real-time images from deep space. Through it all, one thing has remained the same: his commitment to students.
Over the years, he has created opportunities where none existed, helping build programs like the Advanced Academic Immersion (A2I) Program. Through this work, students have been able to take advanced courses their schools couldn’t offer and push beyond what they thought was possible. His classroom is rooted in curiosity, where students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and engage deeply in their learning.
After nearly six decades, his impact reaches far beyond the classroom. It lives on in the generations of students he has taught, many of whom have gone on to become educators, engineers, and leaders who all carry a piece of his influence with them.
This Teacher Appreciation Week, we celebrate Dr. Reidl and the many educators across FWISD who dedicate their lives to building the next generation of leaders.
