Last weekend, some Vigo County YRs had the privilege of being at the Indiana State Republican Convention located in Fort Wayne, IN.

We had the awesome opportunity to connect with Hoosiers and YRs from throughout the country!

Congratulations to Elise Nieshalla (Comptroller), Daniel Elliot (Treasurer), and Max Engling (Secretary of State) on their victories at the convention.

Vigo YRs would also like to personally thank David Shelton for putting his name on the ballot, campaigning hard, and support YRs throughout the journey.

After heavy consideration, conversations with friends and family, and prayers to our Lord, I have decided that I am not done yet! I am excited to announce that I will be running for Vigo County School Board. Although this is a districted seat, mainly consisting of Harrison Township, the entire county is eligible to vote in this race.

Schools are an important issue locally right now. We are struggling to retain our graduating students, and many families are afraid to move to Vigo County because of the quality of the schools. I want to work against that and be someone that both incoming families and current students who feel unheard can reach out to to have a stronger voice in our community.

More information will be available soon, but I am incredibly excited to hit the ground running!

Some YRs attended a Meet and Greet for delegates who will be at the convention next weekend.

It was great to hear from candidates David Shelton and Max Engling, as well as Treasurer Daniel Elliot! We are all looking forward to attending what will be one the of the most interesting conventions in decades!
