When Destiny Erhardt first connected with Brightpoint’s Weatherization program, she expected a few small improvements around her home. Instead, she found a caring team that went above and beyond and helped her family through a trying time.

When unexpected challenges arose, the Weatherization team continued looking for solutions. After discovering several inches of standing water in the crawl space, they brought in additional help to remove the water and repair related problems. They also addressed ventilation concerns, replaced aging equipment, and helped Destiny better understand how her home's systems worked.

"They made us feel like we were part of their team," she shares. "They walked us step by step through everything they were doing."

Today, the results are noticeable. Last summer, Destiny kept her thermostat set at 69 degrees and worried her air conditioner couldn't keep up with the heat. This summer, her home stays comfortable at 73 degrees while her cooling system runs far less often. She has also seen a significant reduction in energy use.

What began as a Weatherization project became something more: a safer, more efficient home and a caring team that helped her family through a challenging time.

Let’s shine the spotlight on some of our WEX interns! (WEX is code for work experience. 😉)

Brightpoint’s Youth Evolvement program connects youth ages 16-24 to paid internships and work experiences across 11 counties in Northeast Indiana.

Through WEX opportunities, youth and young adults gain valuable workplace skills, build confidence, explore career paths, and make meaningful connections that can help shape their futures.

We're thankful to partner with local employers who invest in the next generation!

Women's Equality Day is a reminder that equality is about more than rights. It's also about access to opportunities.

For many women, access to affordable child care is essential to pursuing education, maintaining employment, and achieving financial stability. When child care is out of reach, women often face barriers that limit their ability to thrive.

Did you know that 46% of the households served by Brightpoint are headed by single mothers?

At Brightpoint, we believe that supporting families through quality child care and other resources helps create pathways to opportunity and strengthens our entire community.

💜 Happy Women's Equality Day.
