This month, Daniel's Place broke ground on their new respite care facility. Respite is a vital service for families when caregiving for someone with a disability. Daniel’s Place takes people of all ages. This project will give them a permanent home to better serve their current and future guests. We can’t wait to see it all finished!

On Tuesday our staff went across our 12-county region to celebrate Pay it Forward Day. We gave 11 nonprofit disability service providers $10,000 each. $5,000 is to be used for needs and activities internally. The other $5,000 was to be used for their disability self-advocates to choose organizations in their communities who they feel make a difference in either their own lives or in their communities in general, and “pay it forward.” This program results in surprise donations and a joy-filled day.

Heads up, our office is closed today. It’s one of our favorite days of the year, Pay it Forward Day! Our staff will be all over Northeast Indiana helping disability self advocates from 11 nonprofit service providers give back to their communities by surprising local nonprofit organizations with donations.

Who caught us this morning on 21Alive when League for the Blind and Disabled gave CASS Housing their check? Stay tuned for more fun throughout the day.

How can you pay forward some kindness in your life today?

Sheets Family Park opens in Angola on May 30! We’re proud to have played a role in the collaboration that brought it to life.

Mandy recently attended the Connect to Reflect breakfast hosted by Steuben County Community Foundation, where community partners were recognized for their role in the project. We were honored to receive a replica of the mural featured in the park.

Designed with full inclusion in mind, this space will create more opportunities for people of all abilities to play, connect, and belong in Steuben County.
