Historic Fort Wayne http://www.oldfortwayne.org The Old Fort is on public park grounds, so you can always wander around, into the parade grounds, etc.

The buildings themselves are only open during events when we have volunteers on site. There is a brochure available outside some of the buildings and it has a map with information about the history of the fort and how each of the buildings would have been used. Historic Fort Wayne is a Non-Profit Organization that manages the Old Fort in Fort Wayne, IN. We are a 100% volunteer organization. All of our events are free to the public. All programing is funded by private and corporate donations.

Work on the inside of the Enlisted Quarters continues. Last weekend, Sean and Harry moved all the unassembled bunks to the second floor of the barracks, and then got them reassembled and arranged! Thanks, guys!

What a fun weekend at Taste of the Arts Fort Wayne! We were busy all day. Everyone always enjoys the Nine Man Morris Game, and the fabric printing was a huge hit. (She ran out of bags!)

Lora got to talk with a lot of people who had never been to the Old Fort and invite them to check us out at Be a Tourist In Your Own Hometown on Sunday, Sept. 13.

Overall it was a great day, and so much fun to be a part of this wonderful downtown Fort Wayne event! (Thank you Jennifer for the pics)

Finally after months of preparation, we are ready to move the contents back into the Enlisted Barracks. If we have enough time and help, we'll also be reassembling the bunks. Can you help?

This Saturday, August 29th 8:00AM to 12:00PM!

Bring: Work gloves, drill drivers, socket set, adapter for socket holder, alternate: a socket set with imperial sockets and ratchet.

Be aware, some items will need to go to four rooms on the second floor. If you have lifting restrictions, there is sweeping and window cleaning to be done. All help is welcome.

We were out at the USA BMX Hoosier Nationals yesterday at Franke Park BMX track to provide an Color Guard to help kick off the races!! Somehow we managed to dodge the raindrops and enjoy welcoming the racers from across the country.
