The Board of the North American Association of Christians in Social Work (NACSW) is pleased to announce Kesslyn Brade Stennis PhD, MDiv, MSW as its Interim Executive Director.
Kesslyn, a long-standing member of NACSW, comes to the organization’s helm after serving in various board leadership positions in NACSW, as well as leadership positions in the broader social work profession. Most recently, she has been the Director of the Minority Fellowship Program at the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). She has amassed 25 years of experience in social work education at a variety of Christian and public, minority- and majority- serving institutions. Prior to serving at CSWE, she held the rank of Chair and Full Professor of Social Work and served as Director of the Dr. Dorthy I. Height Center for the Advancement of Social Justice at Coppin State University. Along with holding a Ph.D. in Social Work, Master of Divinity degree, and Graduate Certificate in Women’s studies from Howard University, she also earned a Master of Social Work degree from the Ohio State University and is a proud graduate of Oakwood College (now Oakwood University). Kesslyn’s career includes direct practice, macro practice, grant-writing, publishing, chaplaincy, and entrepreneurial endeavors, and the Board is excited to have her serve NACSW in this capacity.
Kesslyn will be conducting a virtual meeting for the NACSW membership. She will share her immediate vision for NACSW, and you have the opportunity to ask her questions.
