3rd Infantry Division History:

The 3rd Infantry Division, nicknamed the "Rock of the Marne," was established in 1917, and is known for its extensive combat history. It earned its' nickname for a heroic stand during the Second Battle of the Marne in World War I, and has since fought in World War II, the Korean War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn, among others. The division was the first U.S. conventional unit to enter Baghdad in 2003, and has earned more Medal of Honor recipients than any other division. 🧪💪 The Sgt. 1st Class Jeremiah W. Johnson Best CBRN Warrior Competition is officially underway at Fort Leonard Wood, and the 3rd Infantry Division team is putting its skills to the test against some of the Army’s top CBRN Soldiers.

📍 Throughout the competition, competitors will tackle demanding written exams, 🧭 land navigation, ☣️ CBRN-specific challenges, 🏃 physical fitness assessments, and 🎯 weapons qualifications—all designed to identify the Army’s best CBRN Warriors.

The Marne Division is in the fight — and this time, it’s on the CBRN battlefield ☣️💪

Join us in cheering on Cpl. Rio Bailey and Sgt. Adrian Barnett as they represent the 3rd Infantry Division at the SFC Jeremiah Johnson Best CBRN Competition. Competing against some of the Army’s top Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear professionals, these Dogface Soldiers are putting their skills, endurance and warfighting capabilities to the test in one of the most demanding competitions in the force.

From technical proficiency and tactical problem solving to physical endurance and mental resilience, this competition challenges competitors to perform under pressure while showcasing the expertise required to operate in complex and hazardous environments. Their participation reflects the professionalism, discipline and readiness that define Soldiers across the Marne Division.

As they take on each event and represent the Rock of the Marne on the national stage, let’s show them the support they’ve earned. Drop your encouragement below and help us rally behind these outstanding Soldiers as they compete with the very best. 🇺🇸🪨

Get ready, Dogface Nation — the Atlanta Falcons are coming to Fort Stewart in just ONE WEEK! Join us at Quick Track Field for an exciting day of football, fun and community.

📍 Event Schedule:
🏈 Flag Football Clinic: 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
🤝 Meet & Greet: 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
🍽️ Lunch Service at Rocky 2 Dining Facility following the event

⚠️ Important Reminders:
🪑 Seating will be limited — bring lawn chairs if you want a comfortable spot!
☀️ It’s going to be HOT — bring water if you can. Food trucks will also be on site with water and food available for purchase.
🚧 Colmar Road will be CLOSED for the duration of the event, so plan your travel accordingly and allow extra time.
🚗 Parking will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Any overflow is permitted to park at the Newman Gym parking lot.

The Atlanta Falcons are coming to Fort Stewart for a special day with the Dogface Soldiers and Families of the Marne Division.

Join us Thursday, June 4, 2026, for an on post community event featuring a flag football game coached by Falcons players, a meet-and-greet and autograph session, and lunch at Rocky II DFAC where Falcons players will serve Soldiers and Families on the serving line.

Soldiers who are interested in reenlisting with the Atlanta Falcons need to contact their career counselor for more information.
