26th Brigade Support Battalion inactivated and cased the battalion colors on 15 January 2015. The page will stay up so former Challengers and their Families can access old photos and articles. However, there will be no updates until the time when the nation calls forth the Challenger colors once again and the unit is reactivated. Thank you for your continued support. Here are a few photos from the 26th BSB's guidon retirement ceremony. Tomorrow the 26th BSB, along with the other remaining battalions and the brigade will come together with their unit's colors and hold a similar ceremony, officially inactivating the 2nd ABCT, and its subordinate organizations.

Today was the day we've all been working towards for quite some time now. Here are the pictures of our inactivation ceremony.

Just before the ceremony, senior leaders who are PCSing were given their awards, after which a packed room sat in attendance as the 3rd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment; 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artilery Regiment; 2-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion; 26th Brigade Support Battalion; and the 2nd ABCT one at a time cased their colors and formally inactivated.

About a year and a half after the Army identified it for inactivation as part of its large-scale drawdown of force size, the 3rd Infantry Division’s 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team rolled up its guidon Thursday morning, officially ending its tenure at Fort Stewart.
