What does it take to keep the power running at Hope Campus? 💡

Our electric bill fluctuates between $3,200 and $3,700 every single month. That is up to 44,400 a year just for electricity! But this power doesn't just keep the lights on—it directly fuels the foundation of dignity.

In April alone, this exact electricity allowed us to: 🍲 Cook and serve 11,473 hot meals 🧺 Wash sheets and blankets for 2,361 safe overnight stays (that is 2,361 times a head safely hit a pillow instead of the streets) 🐾 Keep the lights on at our on-site dog kennel 💻 Power the computers our Case Managers used to help 5 individuals secure jobs and 7 transition into permanent housing! 🏡💼

Every day at Hope Campus we do a prayer before lunch and talk over anything good or bad that needs to be covered and tell them what we have for them to eat. This is something I've grown to enjoy.Although in the beginning , I felt a little out of place because Betsy always did it and I wasn't comfortable with it. When Betsy left I felt an overwhelming feeling of ,well,are you going to step up or you gonna let this drop. I do what I can and all this to say,today there was a small episode that reminded me of what being without a home must be like. And so when I started talking to our group before lunch , which was very large, I reminded them that they are human beings and eating and drinking and shelter are human rights , not a privilege. They are all equal to anybody else and no one of us are better than anyone else and so go about your day,do the best you can and hold your head up, look people in the eye and continue to try your best. Thank you to Fort Smith and the surrounding community who always step up and help us help everybody who asks for it. Sometimes you can't imagine how much you all help us do this job.

Sometimes you don't know what you need until it shows up right in front of you. This week has been a challenge at Hope Campus in a lot of different directions , and I was feeling it this morning. In walked my group from Evangel Temple and it was a godsend in more ways than they can even imagine. A great morning with good friends mixed with laughing and work and producing a really good meal. And that they did. We did walking tacos with a great chicken and bean mixture seasoned by Mike,and Valerie made a great chocolate pudding with cool whip and chocolate cake chunks on top and chocolate chips, Judah got my drinks ice down and ready and cheese grated, Jimmy and Richard helped me put away things from harps donations this morning. And Barbara, last but not least used her experience and knowledge to cut up yellow Squash, courtesy of Carolyn earlier this week.And she seasoned it beautifully , and we had great vegetables. God is good and he knew what I needed,And, he sent them!

We just got some of that sweet corn this morning that we're all seeing for sale out and about.I don't know who brought it but thank you thank you for thinking of us.I believe my group tonight is going to be shucking some corn. Hope Campus is very appreciative of everything we receive from our community and volunteer partners all year long.Our meal numbers are extremely large right now with no end in sight and everything food is appreciated.

What does a $3,279.35 electric bill actually look like at Hope Campus? 💡

It looks like the power of transformation! This recent OG&E bill doesn't just keep the lights on—it directly powers the foundation of dignity our neighbors desperately need to rebuild their lives.

In just the month of April, this electricity allowed us to:
🍲 Power the kitchen to cook and serve 11,473 hot, nutritious meals!
🧺 Run our heavy-duty washers and dryers continuously to wash clothes, blankets, and sheets for 2,361 safe overnight stays (that is 2,361 times a head safely hit a clean pillow instead of the streets).

When we fulfill these basic needs and pull people out of survival mode, the real work begins. Because the lights were on and the campus was running, our Case Management team was able to help 5 individuals secure employment and transition 7 individuals into their own permanent housing in April alone! 🏡💼

We cannot do this without you. We need our community to help us keep the lights on, the laundry spinning, and the meals cooking so we can continue to break the cycle of homelessness. Hope is within reach! 💚✨
