What a week at the 52nd Annual Behavioral Health Institute in Hot Springs! 💙

This year’s theme, “Rising Together, Moving Forward,” was a perfect reflection of what happens when behavioral health professionals and advocates come together with a shared commitment to learning, collaboration, and improving care.

The Guidance Center was proud to have a large group of team members attend this year’s conference. Ongoing education is incredibly important in the mental health field, and opportunities like BHI allow our team to stay informed, strengthen skills, exchange ideas, and bring new knowledge back to the clients, families, and communities we serve.

We also had so much to celebrate!

🏆 Our very own Sondra Posey, APRN, was named Practitioner of the Year! Sondra was unable to attend, so Marla Kendrick, COO, proudly accepted the award on her behalf.

🎤 Eileen Sharma, MHP, represented The Guidance Center as a conference speaker.

🎤 Marla Kendrick, COO, presented alongside FBI Special Agent Warren Seals on “Preventing Targeted Violence,” sharing important information on a topic that impacts the safety and well-being of our communities.

The conference also featured inspiring educational sessions, valuable networking opportunities, and a powerful keynote from internationally recognized trauma survivor and advocate Tonier Cain, whose story highlighted the importance of trauma-informed care, hope, and recovery.

Throughout the week, our team enjoyed connecting with professionals from across Arkansas while sharing resources, positive affirmations, and information about the many programs and services available through The Guidance Center.

And while education was at the heart of the week, we also enjoyed simply spending time together as a team—learning, laughing, connecting, and making memories along the way.

We are proud to invest in our people because continued learning helps us continue providing the highest quality care possible. Thank you Arkansas Council for Behavioral Health for hosting this event.

We truly are Rising Together and Moving Forward. 💙

🎉 Celebrating the Retirement of Will Lindhout 🎉

After just shy of 15 years of service with The Guidance Center, Mental Health Professional Will Lindhout is beginning a well-earned new chapter: retirement.

For nearly a decade and a half, Will has dedicated his time, knowledge, and compassion to supporting the individuals and families we serve. A career in mental health is about so much more than a job—it is about showing up for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, listening without judgment, offering encouragement, and helping others find a path forward.

We are incredibly grateful for the years Will has spent as part of The Guidance Center family and for the difference he has made along the way.

Will, congratulations on your retirement! We hope this next chapter brings plenty of time to relax, enjoy life, and make some wonderful new memories. Thank you for nearly 15 years of service and dedication. You will certainly be missed! 💙

✨ Business connections, new friendships, great food… and a little casino fun! 🎰

Tonight was a perfect example of why we love being involved with our local Chamber. The room was filled with great conversations, networking, laughter, and businesses learning more about one another. We even got to spin the wheel for some fun prizes, enjoyed some delicious food, and had a fantastic time! 🎉

But one of the best moments of the night was getting to literally watch a little business magic happen. ✨ Two businesses started talking, shared what they do and exchanged ideas—and suddenly, a new connection and opportunity began taking shape right in front of us.

That’s what networking is all about.

If a business or organization wants to become more connected in the community, joining the Chamber is one of the best ways to do it. Show up. Meet people. Tell others what the business does. Learn what they do. Support one another.

Thank you to the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce and Cherokee Casino & Hotel Roland for such a fun evening. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Supporting Students. Supporting Schools. Supporting One Another. 💙

This morning, our School-Based Therapy team came together for a staffing meeting to connect, learn, share resources, and prepare for the important work ahead. Information about the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline was also shared as another valuable resource available when someone needs immediate emotional or mental health support.

We are incredibly grateful for our school-based therapists and the work they do every day. They truly love working with students and have the opportunity to bring mental health support directly to children—right where they spend so much of their day. 🏫❤️

Through partnerships with schools across our service area, our licensed clinicians provide therapy and support in a familiar environment, making care easier to access for students and families. They work alongside students, parents, teachers, counselors, and school staff to support emotional well-being, behavior, confidence, and success both inside and outside the classroom.

Sessions are thoughtfully scheduled to minimize disruption to learning, families remain an important part of the process, and students can continue receiving support during summer and school breaks when needed.

As another school year gets underway, we are thankful for every teacher, counselor, administrator, therapist, parent, and school staff member who helps create a place where students can learn, grow, feel supported, and know that asking for help is always okay.

Here’s to a school year filled with hope, encouragement, connection, and brighter days ahead! 💙📚✨
