Good luck to Northside & Southside tonight! Our house is definitely a house divided when it comes to this rivalry! We’re so grateful for our high school years and proud of the public education Fort Smith gave each of us. No matter which side you’re cheering for, we’re proud to call Fort Smith home.

Tonight, I was honored to hear Allen Wright speak about the incredible work being done by Comprehensive Juvenile Services (www.cjsinc.org) right here in Fort Smith.

CJS is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to helping children ages 8–18 and their families navigate challenges, build stronger relationships, and create brighter futures. Their services include support groups for our youth, along with parenting resources focused on strengthening families. They help made families stronger and bring them back together.

Sometimes life takes us places we never expected to be. And sometimes, we simply need someone to listen, guide us, and remind us that we don’t have to face those challenges alone.

That’s what CJS does.

Last year alone, this organization helped more than 1,000 families in our area. That is more than 1,000 opportunities to make a difference in the life of a child, a parent, and an entire family. And that impacts our entire community.

But they can’t do it alone. CJS NEEDS MENTORS!

If you have a heart for young people and want to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child or young adult, consider becoming a mentor. Sometimes, having one caring, consistent person in their corner can change the direction of a young person's life.
