Chapter 3: Part 1 The Work Begins

Turns out you can't just toss some insulation in the attic and say, "Yep, looks fluffy enough." 😂

There is actually a method to the madness. Proper depth, even coverage and making sure the insulation ends up where it's supposed to be... apparently " fluff it and hope for the best" is NOT an approved weatherization technique. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

The work has officially begun

And trust me...we're just getting started.

📢 September USDA Food Distribution Reminder 📢

The Crawford-Sebastian Community Development Council's September USDA Food Distribution is just around the corner!

As a reminder, we will be using the same distribution procedures as the last USDA Distribution. If you participated in the July USDA Distribution at our location, the process will be the same.

We've tested it. We've measured it. We've found where that sneaky air is traveling. 👀💨

Now all that detective work turns into a roadmap for the crew! 🗺️🔨
But don't worry... we're not just showing up with a caulk gun and sealing every crack we see. The testing tells us where the home needs help and how to tackle it safely.

🕵️‍♂️CHAPTER 2: PART TWO- Time to find the tricky leaks!

Sometimes, the leaks in a home like to play hide-and-seek.👀
That's where zonals and smoke sticks come in!

These tools help our auditors track down air leaks that may be harder to find with our other testing.

From checking pressure differences between areas of the home to actually watching the path air takes, every little clue helps us figure out where the home is losing energy and comfort.🏠💨

We're in Chapter 2: Part One ! 🥳

The blower door is running and now we start looking for hidden leaks using our infrared gun.

This little tool helps us see the temperature differences that our eyes can't- so we can find the problem areas and fix them right the first time.

From windows to doors to under the bathroom and kitchen sinks.... we check it all!

CHAPTER 2: LET'S TURN IT ON 💨🏡

We've taken a look at the home.
Now it's time to put it to the test!

Our blower door helps us measure how much air is moving in and out of the home and gives our crew a better idea of where those hidden leaks may be.

Because we don't want to guess where a home needs help-
we to test it, find it and know exactly where to look next. 👀
