Bourbon County is seeking a staff accountant/bookkeeper in the County Treasurer’s office. The position will be responsible for accounting functions such as bank reconciliations and analysis, daily balancing functions, account analysis, tax foreclosure process and other projects as assigned by the Treasurer. The position also provides customer service for property taxes and motor vehicle as needed. Expert level Microsoft Excel skills are required. Prior experience in banking is a plus. Strong analytical and communication skills will help the candidate be successful in this position. Car Tag renewals due in July are for last names beginning with the letters J, K & L. You can renew online, by mail or in person at the Courthouse. Don't wait until the last minute and wait in a long line. You can reprint your registration info or renew online through the attached link. Delinquent property taxes will be published in the paper as of 7/31/22. Now is the time to check to make sure your taxes are paid to avoid the publication and $17 fee. You can check tax payments through the attached link to the Bourbon County Website. Check on your kids, parents and friends too!

**Public Service announcement** If your last name begins with the letter H or I, June is your month! You have until Thursday, 6/30 at 4:00pm to renew your tags. Online is still available. If you didn't get your renewal notice, you can reprint it at www.ksrevenue.org under Online Services. Don't be late!

Guess what time it is?? If you name starts with the letters E, F, or G, you tags expire on Tuesday. We will see you at the Courthouse on Tuesday 8:30-4:00. Bring your Snickers…the line will probably be long. 🤣

Property taxes are due on Tuesday, May 10th. On Monday, May 9th, the Treasurer's office will be open from 7:00am-7:00pm. Come and see us early or late! Online payment is still available. The drop box is available out front for your convenience. Maybe we should offer pony express service.?!? The office will be open regular hours on Tuesday.

The second half of property taxes are due NEXT Tuesday, May 10th. You can pay in person, mail them in or pay online at https://www.kansas.gov/propertytax/. Be careful with online payments, the fees are lower for online checks than credit cards. The Treasurer's office will be open next Monday, 5/9, from 7:00am - 7:00pm.

May tag renewals: If your name begins with E,F, or G, your tags will expire on 5/31. If you didn't receive your renewal notice from the State of Kansas, you can print your renewal from this link:
https://mvs2.dmv.kdor.ks.gov/PrintRenewals/ You need your tag number to look up your notice on the website. The link say Driver's License but it works correctly. You can renew online, in person or by mail. Don't wait until the last day, the line is the longest on that last day. Tag your friends to remind them!

Next time you are by your car or truck, snap a picture of your license plate. Do it for all your vehicles. It makes it much easier for the Treasurer’s office to assist you with a plate number. Also, if you had to tell the police your tag number, would you know it? Most people would not.
PS - we still love our customers that call with no information on their cars or property. We still love the ones that show up with a checkbook and a smile. 😀
