Water leak on Crawford is fixed and water is restored.

This is not a duplication from yesterday, but we have another leak near the 1800 block of Crawford. Crews are coming in to fix the leak and residents in the 1500 to 1800 blocks will be without water for about 4 hours. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will update when water is restored.

🎉 BIG congratulations to Natalia Varzea on her promotion!

Natalia has been employed with the City of Fort Scott as our Public Information Coordinator since March 2026 and has been heavily involved in our marketing, communications, and event coordination.

We are excited to officially welcome Natalia to our team full time! She has already hit the ground running and has been busy developing new tourism strategies and ideas for 2027.

We’re excited to see what she brings to this new role and what’s ahead for Fort Scott! Congratulations, Natalia!

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, friends, and communities forever changed by that day.

As firefighters, we remember the 343 brothers and sisters of the fire service who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger as others were running away. We honor their courage, their service, and their willingness to give everything for someone else.

Today, our ladder stands tall and our flag flies proudly—not simply as a tribute to those we lost, but as a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and unity that define this great nation and the fire service.

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

In last night’s episode of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso Season 4, Episode 6 - Ted reminisces about his first head coaching job… right here in Fort Scott! 🏈

He talks about his (quaint) apartment, the people who encouraged him, the little notes and signs that helped keep him going, and how someone could “see things in him that [he] couldn’t see” in himself.

We think that’s a pretty good description of Fort Scott. ⚽️ Thanks for the shout-out, Ted! We’re proud to be part of your story. 💙
