Isolated strong to severe storms will be possible through 10 AM east of Highway 63 this morning. Elsewhere across southern Missouri and southeast Kansas, scattered showers and storms will continue weakening. Most areas stay dry.

Bourbon; Crawford

At 159 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Moran to 9 miles southwest of Uniontown to
Erie. Movement was east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include...
Pittsburg, Fort Scott, Frontenac, Girard, Arma, Marmaton, Mulberry,
Chicopee, Franklin, Bronson, Arcadia, Uniontown, Walnut, Fulton,
Redfield, Hepler, Burgess, Beulah, Croweburg, and Yale.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
southeastern Kansas...and west central Missouri.

Update: Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 1 at 1:51AM CDT until June 1 at 2:00AM CDT by NWS Springfield MO

Bourbon, KS

The storms which prompted the warning have weakened below severe
limits, and no longer pose an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, small
hail, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with these
thunderstorms.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
southeastern Kansas...and west central Missouri.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Springfield.

At 138 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 7 miles south of Mound City to 7 miles northeast of
Redfield to near Uniontown, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Fort Scott, Marmaton, Bronson, Uniontown, Fulton, Redfield, Mapleton,
Harding, Petersburg, Hammond, Devon, Garland, and Xenia.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
