Policy Update: Tuition and Credentialing Assistance

The Army Continuing Education Division (ACED) is announcing upcoming updates to Tuition Assistance (TA) and Credentialing Assistance (CA), effective with the publication of AR 621-5.

TA Updates
- Command approval will be required for all TA requests
- Soldiers with two recoupment actions in the same fiscal year will be suspended from requesting TA or CA for 12 months

CA Updates
- Command approval will be required for all CA requests
- Commissioned Officers will no longer be eligible for CA
- Soldiers with two recoupment actions in the same fiscal year will be suspended from requesting CA or TA for 12 months

Why these changes matter
These updates are designed to support long-term sustainability of Army education benefits, preserve resources for Soldiers where they're most needed, and increase leader involvement in the approval process. This also brings the Army into closer alignment with education policies across other Services.
