Paying homage to the "Christmas Truce" of WWI, FSC Soldiers played a game of soccer before taking some much needed time off.
On Christmas Eve, 1914, German and English Soldiers hesitantly stepped out of the muddy trenches to meet each other face to face. Hours prior, they had been shooting at each other. Now, they walked into No Man's Land unarmed. They exchanged stories, ci******es, and whatever else they had with them at the time to celebrate the occasion. They even played a game of soccer.
For one night, these enemies of battle came together as brothers. They showed that dispite our differences, we all have value as fellow human beings. May you all have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.

“Eventually the English brought a soccer ball from their trenches, and pretty soon a lively game ensued,” he wrote. “How marvelously wonderful, yet how strange it was. The English officers felt the same way about it. Thus Christmas, the celebration of Love, managed to bring mortal enemies together as friends for a time" (German Lieutenant Kurt Zehmisch).
